A six-year-old girl was violated by a young man at Bhaluka village in Sadar upazila in Chuadanga on Saturday noon.
The girl, rescued unconscious in the evening, is now undergoing treatment at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
According  to locals and family sources, one Mahbul, 22, of the same village  called the girl, a student of class I at Shankarpur primary school at  about 2:30 pm when she was collecting grass for goats at a field at  Bhaluka.
Mahbul gagged the girl with a piece of cloth and took her inside a nearby bush and raped her, they said.
Mahbul then fled away leaving the girl unconscious.  
Locals found the girl at about 5:00 pm and took her to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
Doctors  at the hospital said the girl is now out of danger but the  officer-in-charge (OC) of Chuadanga Sadar police station yesterday said  he was unaware about the matter as none lodged any complaint.
Meanwhile, a tribunal in Satkhira sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for violating a four-year-old girl in 2008.
Convict Mojibar Rahman, 23, is son of Shafikul Islam of Bhaluka Chandpur village in Sadar upazila.
The tribunal also fined him Tk 5,000, in default, to suffer one year more in jail.
According  to the prosecution, in brief, Mojibar took the girl to his house while  she was playing on a nearby road and violated her at about 2:00pm on  August 24, 2008.
Hearing her scream, locals rushed to the spot  and rescued her in a profusely bleeding condition. They admitted her to  Satkhira Sadar Hospital. Later, victim's father filed a case with Sadar  police.
After examining records and witnesses, judge S M Rezanur  Rahman of Woman and Child Repression Prevention Court handed down the  verdict.
